Sensei Jamie began her martial arts journey in 2000 at the age of 9, training under Shihan Wayne Mello. An active competitor on the tournament circuit, she achieved notable success, including placing in the prestigious Ozawa Cup in Las Vegas in 2005. That same summer, she earned her Black Belt. While continuing her training and competing, she discovered her passion for teaching by assisting in classes.
In 2010, Sensei Jamie earned her Nidan rank and later claimed the Women’s Black Belt Fighting Championship at the 2011 Summer Spectacular in Maine. In 2013, she joined the Army National Guard, serving as a Technical Engineer for the 101st Engineer Battalion. After completing her service in 2019, she returned to her martial arts pursuits with renewed dedication.
In 2020, she reached the rank of Sandan and was honored with the title of Sensei from AIKA. Over the years, she has trained and taught extensively, working with children, judging tournaments, and even serving as a camp counselor. These experiences deepened her commitment to sharing her passion with others.
In August 2024, she began an exciting new chapter by opening Tiger Spirit Martial Arts, where she continues to inspire students through her love of martial arts and teaching.
