Why Train with A.I.K.A.?

The A.I.K.A. has proven itself through the achievements of its students. While Kancho Almeida’s accomplishments are extensive, from national titles, the “barkless tree” and to mentoring countless instructors, what truly speaks to our legacy is what our students have achieved.

Almeida’s students have proven themselves on national and international stages. They’ve earned titles across IPPONE, USANKF, USAKF, and AAU Junior Olympics in fighting, kata, and weapons.

Their adaptability is unmatched—excelling in kickboxing when it was first legalized in Massachusetts, and holding their own with world-class Aikido, Judo, and Jujitsu practitioners. But above all, A.I.K.A. members form a close-knit community, united by shared growth and support.

A.I.K.A. provides full-spectrum training, blending techniques from multiple arts while recognizing their unique strengths and limitations.

A.I.K.A. ranks are earned not given. Each belt is part of a lineage connected directly to Okinawan masters Hanshi Fusei Kise and Hanshi Seiji Aikimine.

We maintain high standards. Not every student passes their exam on the first try and that’s by design. Just like in academics, meaningful achievement comes from real effort.

A.I.K.A. is a low-profit organization driven by our love for the martial arts. Our tuition is kept affordable, with most locations offering family and student discounts. Our mission has always been, and will always be, to teach authentic karate.
